While meal prices in Turkey can vary, the average cost of food in Turkey is TRY135 per day. Based on the spending habits of previous travelers, when dining out an average meal in Turkey should cost around TRY54 per person. Breakfast prices are usually a little cheaper than lunch or dinner.
When it comes to alcoholic drinks, Turkey is a bit more expensive. Having a beer in a pub can cost you anywhere from 15 to 25 liras. If you are at a very fancy place, expect to pay around 40 liras for a pint.

Turkish is the official language of Turkey and English is widely spoken in Istanbul; visitors are often surprised by the relatively high level of English spoken by most Turks. Ordinary and service/official passport holders are required to have visa to enter Türkiye. Holders of such passports may get their 90-day multiple-entry visas from Turkish missions abroad or obtain their 30-day single-entry e-visas via the website www.evisa.gov.tr.
