In short—if you're a Pogue, you live on the south side of the island, also known as The Cut. The Pogues are the working class people, waitering, cleaning boats, running charters for the rich. Essentially, they are the slums of the island—some inherently look down upon its residents based on their living there.
"Pogue life is all fun and nothing not. You can worry about it after we're done surfing. It's going out and having fun and then when you come back to shore, you can deal with everything." Rudy Pankow, who plays JJ, agreed saying that Pogues are able to look at things differently thanks to the way they live life.
As Nultemeier tells me, the term "Pogue" isn't anything people in the Outer Banks use. "That's a full on Hollywood thing," he says. And obviously, the word kook is old surfing slang, but it's not used specifically to refer to rich people in the Outer Banks.
If you want to dress like a Pogue, your outfits should reflect this. In real life, the Pogue style could be compared to the surfer or VSCO style. Basically, keep things summery. That means you'll be wearing jean shorts, swimsuits, tank tops, crop tops, lots of jewelry and accessories, and hopefully sunscreen.
The Pogues or simply Pogue is a name given to a group of people that are from The Cut, the south side of the Outer Banks. The Cut is home to the working class, citizens who make livings bussing tables, washing yachts, and running charters.
My Summer Outfit Mood Board Now Revolves Around Kiara From Outer Banks
May 5, 2020
Biography. Kiara is the only child of Mike and Anna Carrera. Her mother Anna was born into money and is from Figure Eight, while her father Mike rose from a less privileged Pogue background to start a very successful local restaurant called The Wreck (where Kie works for her parents).
The two were never on the same page romantically, and how Kie felt when Pope initially confessed to loving her still remains true. He's her friend who she loves, but she's not in love with him.
Anna Carrera is one of the recurring characters in Outer Banks. She is portrayed by Samantha Soule.
Pope was in the running for a merit scholarship for college but he left his interview halfway through to help the Pogues get the gold, messing up his chances to get a scholarship.
During a trip to Charleston, Pope finds out that his family actually has connections to the Royal Merchant. His ancestor Denmark Tanney was the ship's cook and the only survivor of the shipwreck.
and his fellow Pogues. John and Sarah's salvation ship is heading to Nassau in the Bahamas, and that's exactly where John B.
Sarah warns John B that she usually bails at this point when she gets too close to someone; John B reassures her. Sarah then expresses that she's afraid that if they have sex, and she loses her virginity, that he will not like it — John B says they can wait. Sarah looks at him and says “thank you”, and they have sex.
The answer is no. Cline confirmed in an Instagram Story on January 24, 2022, that Outer Banks season three won't be her last on the show and that she plans to return for as long as they have her.
Sarah will get pregnant while she, John B, and the others are trapped on the island. Outer Banks isn't One Tree Hill or Dawson's Creek, in that it's not strictly a teen drama. But there is the ongoing love story between John B and Sarah. And there's the mention of the fact that Kiara's parents are a Pogue and a Kook.
Though he'd seemingly become a nicer character in Outer Banks season 2, Topper had, in truth, become a "nice guy" whose actions actually belied lingering issues. He'd never fully wrapped his head around why he'd lost Sarah to a Pogue.
Their relationship drama was stirred up by Wheezie, Sarah's younger sister, who planted doubt in Topper's minds about Sarah's faithfulness. This led to Topper interrogating Sarah every time they were together. She eventually couldn't take it anymore, which is around the time she grew closer to John B.

According to a source who spoke to Us Weekly, the former couple's split was caused by their “busy schedules” in the end. “They've been trying to work it out for quite some time but decided going their separate ways was best,” the insider told the site on November 2, 2021.
John B.'s main love interest is 16-year-old Sarah Cameron. She's known as a "Kook," or a rich person in the Outer Banks. While Sarah's family may be elitist and, in some cases, downright evil, Sarah is able to escape all that to find love with John B. and his friends, the "Pogues."
