second Sunday in May
In the United States, Mother's Day is celebrated annually on the second Sunday in May.
In 1949, after the first meeting of “Praise Mothers” was held, the society decided to adopt the second Sunday of May as the official date of celebration in the country.
This year, Mother's Day is on Sunday, May 8, 2022.
This year, the UK will celebrate Mother's Day on March 27. The UK date of this celebration is rooted in the Christian observance of Mothering Sunday. Mothering Sunday takes place on the fourth Sunday in the festival of Lent, exactly three weeks before Easter Sunday.
March 25th (or the nearest Sunday) is nine months before December 25th (you work it out...) It was traditionally a day off for servants, who could use it to return home and visit their mothers, since they wouldn't get to see them during the rest of the year, on average.
Originally, she wanted Father's Day to be on June 5th, which was her own father's birthday, as a way of honouring him. He was a Civil War veteran who had raised six children on his own after his wife died during childbirth.
Don't feel bad if this date is news to you; the celebration changes days year-to-year. If you ever forget, just remember that Father's Day always falls on the third Sunday in June, and then check the calendar accordingly.
As the dates of Lent vary each year, so does the date of Mothering Sunday. Although it's often called Mother's Day in the UK, it has no connection with the American Mother's Day. In the US, Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of May each year.

end of slavery
Juneteenth is a holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. It is also called Emancipation Day or Juneteenth Independence Day. The name “Juneteenth” references the date of the holiday, combining the words “June” and “nineteenth.”
You could say something like, “You're on my mind today. I miss Michael, too.” If they have a living child, try, “This day must be filled with mixed feelings for you. I love seeing the relationship you have with Cora and remember your love for Jessie.” If you don't know what to say, that's okay.
That's harder than it might sound. Daughters who lose their mothers prematurely share certain qualities, Edelman discovered: “A keen sense of isolation, a sharp awareness of our own mortality, ... [and] the strong desire to give our children the kind of mothering we lost or never had.”

What to say when someone dies unexpectedly
It simply means the death was unexpected. Sometimes it's a suicide, but to say it “usually” means suicide would be wrong. Sometimes it's a car crash, a heart attack, or any number of other things that can kill you well before you ever expected to die. 436 views.
