Descale Solution Pouch:
If you don't descale your Keurig, it won't work correctly as the water flow will be disrupted. Brewing will take longer, and the machine may sound louder. It can also impact the taste and temperature of your coffee.
Grab the vinegar: White distilled vinegar will help descale (remove lime and scale buildup) your coffee maker, which is key to helping it run. (You can also use a descaling solution.) Fill the water reservoir halfway with vinegar. Add water: Fill the reservoir the rest of the way with water.
Press and hold the brew button and 12oz button for 5 seconds until water starts dispensing. Then release and let the water purge. Discard the contents into the sink. Press the power button to restart.
Everyone wants a definitive answer, but there really isn't one. Both vinegar and descaling solutions work equally well when it comes to descaling. Some people say that the white vinegar leaves a lingering taste, but many also tout it as the ideal method to clear away limescale.
You really should let it sit for an hour if you can. The longer it sits the more scale the acidic vinegar will dissolve from the machine. Don't let it sit for more than 3 hours. If you want, you can even repeat this whole process up to this point again.
To ensure fresh, delicious, and clean espresso, descale your machine at least once every two months.
Every three to six months:
