When does FedEx start and stop delivering? We generally makes deliveries from 8 AM to 8 PM, Monday-Friday; and on Saturday and Sunday for residential deliveries. If you got a message that says FedEx will deliver your package by end of day, that means your package should arrive before 8 PM on the delivery date.
When will my package arrive?
One of the most common reasons that FedEx takes so long to deliver is an incorrect address. There are several reasons an incorrect address may be on the shipping label. It starts with buyer error. It's possible that the buyer might have accidentally typed the wrong shipping address into the field.
FedEx told us over email that they don't make automated calls to customers. The scam is called the delivery break-in scam, according to the Better Business Bureau. They say to watch out for anyone asking what the best day to deliver a package would be.
“FedEx does not send unsolicited text messages or emails to customers requesting money or package or personal information,” the company said in a statement sent to USA TODAY. “Any suspicious text messages or emails should be deleted without being opened, and reported to email@example.com.”
FedEx will obtain a signature from someone at the delivery address or from somebody nearby, such as a neighbor or building manager. The recipient has the option to authorize the shipment to be released without anyone present.
FedEx offers the ability to pick up your package personally before delivery is attempted as a 100% free service that they call “Hold at Location”. The fact that this service is completely free is another testament to the way that FedEx sees their customers.
FedEx will hold your package for up to 7 days for both FedEx Ground service and FedEx Express service before it's returned to the shipper. You'll need to bring your tracking number, government-issued photo ID, and your door tag number. To learn where your package is being held, you'll need to track your package.

Does FedEx deliver on weekends, including Saturday and Sunday? Yes, FedEx Home Delivery is an every-day delivery service, including Saturdays and Sundays with weekend delivery to most residential locations.
The cutoff time for overnight shipping with most couriers is usually between 6 PM and 7 PM. You can use USPS over the weekends, but you'll have to pay an additional charge on Sunday deliveries. For both UPS and FedEx, only Saturday pickups and deliveries are available for an additional charge.
USPS Priority Mail Express is a guaranteed way to send documents and packages to a destination overnight or in one to two days on any day of the year, including Sundays and holidays.
Other than time-definite air deliveries, shipments are generally delivered anytime between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. (and sometimes later) to residences, and by close of business for commercial addresses.

What is considered the end of the day for UPS delivery? Simply put, the end of the day means that there is no guaranteed delivery time for the package. That means your package will be delivered past the guaranteed UPS delivery times for the particular service you chose. That can be 6 pm, 8 pm, or even as late as 10 pm.
Why? Your package is still within the UPS network and, unless otherwise noted, should be delivered on the scheduled delivery date. Shipment movement information is captured each time a tracking label is scanned in the UPS delivery system.
